Winter wedding to cherish, last January on a crisp cold day as the sun set at the Hawk’s View Golf Club in Lake Geneva Wisconsin Andy and Danielle Adams said their I Do’s in front of family, friends and loved ones.  Andy and Danielle thought of every perfect detail to keep their guest warm during the ceremony with a delightful hot chocolate, but the cold did not bother their guest since they were captivated by the love of this beautiful couple. With an exquisite velvet cape and romantic snow scenes, this gallery by C.mae design will make you long for winter in a serious way.

How did you and Andy decide on a winter wedding?  Did you get from people that you guys were crazy for have an outside winter ceremony?

Slower time for both of our jobs made winter time more ideal. I had always thought about a fall wedding, but once we decided on January, I really begin to embrace the different possibilities. We were also all for saving some money and many of the venues in the area offered discounted rentals due to January being “off-season”. I think more people thought we were crazy by having our ceremony outside rather than the idea of a winter wedding as a whole.

I know that you made the invitations, which you did an incredible job. You also made a lot of the decorations, but what was your favorite thing you made for your wedding?  Did you have any help making this?

I had my fingers on just about everything, whether I had only designed it or made the entire thing. I loved my invites, they turned out better than I had ever originally planned. I also loved our cake stand which Andy had made. One of my brothers made the cupcake stands and a few ladies helped drink the wine for the bottles they helped cover in glitter.

What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?

There’s so many of them! I loved having my mom there all day to help get ready and keep me calm and of course the first look with my dad will always stand out. Overall all, Andy and I enjoyed ourselves and were so happy that our guests enjoyed themselves just as much – that was very important to us.

How did you decide on your guest book, it was unique?

Pinterest was a driving force behind some of my ideas!

What from your wedding would you like to pass on to your children as a family heirloom?

I would definitely pass on the garters Andy’s grandma, Jane, made. They are so pretty and well crafted.

What was the most important thing to you and Andy on your wedding day?

I would say it was having everyone together. It’s always great to have everyone near and far together for any celebration.

What advice do you have for brides on their wedding day?

Be prepared to have your back up plan your main plan, especially if anything is outside. We luckily had good weather, but you never know what Mother Nature has in mind. The good things that will happen will certainly outweigh any hiccups.

What practical advice do you guys have for couples getting married?

It’s worth pricing things – I did some leg work to determine the best deal. We saved a lot of money without sacrificing the aesthetics and experience. Don’t be afraid to utilize the help of those around you if they are able – it’s great time spent together and will take some stress off!
